Can I suggest that either search 'water in boot' or take a look here Water in rear passenger footwell. The replacement parts are cheap approx. £25 for the pair, fitting requires the removal of the rear bumper & the drying out of the carpets is a real PIA. The job can be tackled by a competent bodyshop or MB indie garage.

The water in the rear footwell can be coming from the sunroof rear drain hose which can be snaked open by accessing the drain holes located on the back of the sunroof frame when the sunroof is fully opened. You must also check the drain pipe that is found near the battery and used to direct water from the windshield to the ground.

Pour water through that upper opening, and confirm that water flows freely below. There are upper openings at the front corners of the top of the windshield frame. Clear the drain tubes that dump into the right rear fender well. They are the main causes of water in the trunk area, and PSE problems. The upper openings are at the gas fill flap.

Hi All. After the last heavy rain 3/4 days ago, I noticed nearside rear passenger footwell carpet & mat saturated in water. Checked rear door seal, no damage. The boot is ok, front passenger floor area including below the seat is all dry. Sheld underneath the car is intact (not lose or any sign of damage). P.

I've got an A-Class and have the same issue (quite a substantial puddle of water in the rear passenger footwell). I've removed/refixed the rear light casing and placed a hose over the window seals and boot lid but am struggling to locate the cause of it. I've also noticed that water is collecting in the boot (beneath the spare tire).

In W169 (2004-2012 A-class), to fix this problem, you would need to: 1. Check the central water drain under the cabin filter (pictured above) 2. Check the side water drains (left and right below the windscreen) 3. If the water is getting into the spare wheel well, get the rear bumper off and remove, clean and seal the rear air pressure vents.

Mine was completely soaked and kept supplying the rear footwell with water. If your rear seat has moisture underneath, it'll be trapped in the insulation (the top of the insulation has a plastic coating). The only direction it can go, is down.. through the cable holes, into your rear footwell. The rear footwell is in my experience the main rust.

This is the problem. It stops sealing and rainwater sneaks in between the body and the seal. From there it tracks along behind the inner arch trim and sluices down under the rear seat onto the floor. The design is not that clever. The rear lamp seals to the body with a triangular foam, and rainwater drains behind the body of the light itself.

Came out just after Xmas to 0.5l of water in rear drivers side footwell. Took it to Mercedes who spent best part of 10 days investigating cause. While investigating they informed me of a previously repaired leak which was at the rear vents which had been repaired under warranty in Blackpool. Turns out my leak caused by a badly sealed roof seam.

Right, after abit more digging around I've found two things.. 1) Water in the trunk seems to be dripping down the power outlet, passenger side. 2) Water at the front - took off the fuse box cover and it's soaked. The a/c pipe underneath the glove compartment is connected and dry.

I noticed that water was dripping into passenger footwell and after removing cover underneath glove compartment I can see that the water is coming from the area marked in red where light is shining. The problem is occurring when water is flowing through the drainage pipes from the windscreen on the passenger side. Drain 1 is draining fine.

May 27, 2021. #5. oh god, water ingress, it can be a pain. the water in the back passenger side will be a result of the water in the fr4ont passenger side, it has run back, un less you park it back facing up hill. Check all your drain holes, including the water drain from air box (if it has one).
